Mirada Fine Art was opened in Indian Hills by Steve & Jenni Sonnen, former owners of Tesoros, in the former Tesoros building. Art is on display and for sale in the historic building that also can be rented for special events.

Mirada Fine Art

The former owners of Tesoros Home Furnishings, Steve and Jenni Sonnen, opened this new fine art gallery in Indian Hills in November offering distinctive contemporary art in a truly enticing environment.

“Most of the artists who are represented at Mirada cannot be found at any other gallery in Colorado,” Steve said, “even though their work really embodies the spirit of the region.”  Mirada features artists from all across the globe, many of whom have won national and international awards. 

Beautiful oils, acrylics and mixed media pieces grace the walls, while alluring bronze sculptures are scattered throughout the building.

The gallery is located in the historic 1920s log building that was originally called HoChaNeeStea, or Chief’s Inn.  When it opened, the building served as both a general store and land sales office for Indian Hills. The historic structure has been beautifully renovated and is now as spectacular as when it opened almost 100 years ago. Mirada’s facility is available for rent for small-to-mid-size events such as rehearsal dinners, parties, company retreats and any special occasion.

Shadow Mountain Gallery

This local artists-owned galley has been a cooperative effort since 1990, offering its 40 members a showcase to sell their work and gain recognition.

For its first five years, the gallery was located in the landmark Yellow Barn in Conifer. Now it’s located in the heart of downtown Evergreen between Beau Jo’s Pizza and Java Groove. It displays and sells locally made fine art and crafts.

Being a cooperative gallery means each artist is an owner and, therefore, involved in many aspects of the gallery including manning the store. Stop by and the person who welcomes you to the gallery may be the artist whose artwork you choose to take home.

Adobe Creek Framing & Fine Art Photography

Owner Ken Juliano has been a photographer for 30 years and a framer for 15. He has owned and operated Adobe Creek Framing and Fine Art Photography for 3 1/2 years in the adobe shopping center in Kittredge.

“This is what I love to do,” Ken said, “I do framing and fine art photography.” He and his camera are available to take protraits. So if you are a business owner or proud family person, Ken can shoot and frame professional portraits. He’s also available for special events.

Frames for All Reasons

Frames for All Reasons was founded in August of 1981 by Julie Jones Mead, who conceived an innovative and affordable framing establishment for different works of art—paintings, 3-D art, sports jerseys, photographs and prints.

Julie’s son, Jim Molenda, joined the shop five years later.

Since its opening, customers come in to frame certain works themselves. For professional framing jobs, the qualified staff is there to get the job done. The shop’s clients include corporations, architects, designers, restauranteurs, established collectors and people interested in learning more about contemporary art.

Frames For All Reasons also hosts art exhibitions each month as a supportive gesture to local artists.
